Valley Plastic Surgery is now using a new app called MedCal to help you throughout your surgical journey.
When your initial consultation is booked you will receive a text message from MedCal which will let you download the app directly.
It’s free for you to use.
The app’s log-in is simple. Your login is your mobile phone number you’ve supplied to VPS, and a password (Med-Code) will be supplied via SMS when you log-in.
Once logged in please enter your demographic data into MedCal as requested. This information is available to VPS straight away, and it will help streamline your appointment check-in.
Medcal is monitored by VPS staff and will work as a portal for you to receive information pertaining to your procedure and communicate with the VPS staff. This information supplied will include;
- Pre and post-operative instructions
- Quotes for surgery
- Consent documentation
- Fasting and admission times
- Post-operative wellbeing questionnaires
MedCal uses mobile phone notifications for reminders. It’s very important you have them turned on.
You will also be able to communicate directly with VPS admin and nursing staff through the ‘message’ function of the app. This will be monitored during business hours Monday to Friday and will enable to ask us any questions you may have and securely send clinical photographs or documents to clinical staff if required.
After your operation you will be sent daily medical questionnaires. These are aimed to gauge how you are recovering and will be used by our clinical team to ensure that you are supported during this period.
